Power Outages Hit Siargao After Typhoon Tino as Surfers Await Event Update

SIARGAO NORTH — The island is now picking up the pieces after Typhoon Tino swept through, leaving widespread damage in its wake. Power remains out across Siargao after strong winds toppled several electric posts.

Surfers and organizers are awaiting an official update on when the National Longboard Competition will resume. According to officials from UPSA Philippines, the event could be moved to November 5.

The photo shows the Ora Kafé Sunset Deck in North Siargao, which sustained damage from the typhoon.
