Typhoon Tinio Halts Inaugural National Longboard Competition in North Siargao

It was not a good day for longboarders or the excited town hosting the first National Longboard Competition in North Siargao, as Typhoon Tinio was forecast to hit the island on the event’s opening day. Organizers, including the Province of Surigao del Norte and the United Philippine Surfing Association (UPSA), have put the much-anticipated competition on hold as strong winds and heavy rains loom over the country’s surfing capital.
