Waves, Keys and Michelin Dreams in Siargao
The red book has finally landed. The Michelin Guide, that little bible of taste and travel, has rolled onto Philippine shores, its 2026 edition marking a new chapter for the archipelago’s culinary and hospitality map. For years, the whispers were there: when will the Philippines get its stars, its keys, its moment? Now it’s here.
And here in Siargao, on our own stretch of sand and salt, Siargao’s pride, Nay Palad Hideaway, has earned a Michelin Key Distinction for 2025. A quiet, soul-rich oasis that embodies what true luxury means: space to breathe, simplicity without pretense, and that feeling that the world, for a moment, makes sense again. Congratulations, Nay Palad. Your North Siargao community is stoked, surfboards high and hearts full.
We also raise our cups to Palm Grill and Lasa, champions of Tausug and Southern Mindanao flavors, each earning the 2026 Bib Gourmand. Their food carries the spice and spirit of Mindanao to the world, one humble plate at a time.
As for us here at Ora Kafé, we brew, we wait, we watch. Maybe one day, the Michelin man will walk and test the cuisines in General Luna, Pilar, Burgos or venture into our surfside café—order a flat white, take a sip and stay for the sunset.
